Dafi joined AHP in August 2017, having earlier worked as a legal researcher, senior manager, and senior adviser at a number of institutions, namely the Indonesian Centre for Law and Policy Studies, the Corruption Eradication Commission, the Indonesia-Netherlands National Legal Reform Program administered by the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund, and the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Justice managed by Cardno Emerging Markets. As a result of his tenure with these institutions, Dafi is known as a key player in the Indonesian legal and judicial reform efforts.

Since joining AHP, Dafi has advised corporations on commercial dispute resolution, including settlement negotiations, arbitration, and court proceedings. He also assists and advises clients on Indonesian laws and regulations, including administrative law and procedure, criminal law and procedure, and client’s legal rights. He is sought by both public and private institutions for his advice on governance issues, regulation drafting and compliance.

Dafi’s private institutions clients include PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, Star Energy Group Ltd, PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero), Mitsubishi Research Institute, PT Coca-Cola Indonesia, PT Lastana Express Indonesia (Lazada), and PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia. In addition to his previous long-term advisory engagement with different law and judicial institutions, he also provided legal advice to the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia and the Presidential Office, through which he and other Indonesian legal experts had the opportunity to meet directly with President Joko Widodo in 2016 and 2018 to discuss a range of law and legal issues.

Dafi earned his master of laws degree from the University of Washington School of Law, USA, where he was a Fulbright scholar. He is currently completing a PhD program at Tilburg Law School, the Netherlands, that he began in 2015. In addition to his formal learning, Dafi also participated in different professional enrichment programs, like the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on the US Judicial System organised by the US Department of State in 2002, fellowship on democracy, development and rule of law at Stanford University in 2006, and internships on electronic court at the Federal Court of Australia in 2012 and 2014.

Besides his law practice and continued involvement in legal and judicial reform efforts, Dafi also serves as Lecturer at Indonesia Jentera School of Law and speaker in national and international forums. Dafi is also an active legal writer who has penned several books, including "Advokat Indonesia Mencari Legitimasi", which has become one of the primary references in discourses on the legal profession in Indonesia, and a chapter on civil court in Indonesia for "The Politics of Court Reform: Judicial Change and the Legal Culture in Indonesia’, which will be published by the Cambridge University Press in late 2019. Dafi has also published

numerous articles in law journals and local media such as the Jakarta Post, Hukumonline, Kompas, and Koran Tempo.
