Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) is pleased to have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kim & Chang in September 2026 to strengthen cooperation between the two firms on matters involving Korean investment in Indonesia and Indonesian business interests in Korea.
Under the MOU, the firms will work together on cross-border matters, with the cooperation including the mutual secondment of lawyers and knowledge-sharing activities between the two firms.
Korea is one of Indonesia's leading foreign investors, with Korean companies playing a significant role in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, technology and financial services. AHP has extensive experience advising Korean investors, lenders, and multinational companies on a broad range of Indonesian legal and regulatory matters, including investments, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and major development projects.
The MOU brings together AHP's experience in the Indonesian legal and regulatory landscape and Kim & Chang's Indonesia Practice, which works closely with its attorneys in Seoul and has an attorney based in Jakarta. Together, the firms aim to give clients closer and more coordinated support across both jurisdictions.
