Muhamad Kamal Fikri is Co-Head of AHP’s Employment practice group and Head of the firm’s Family & Private Client practice. With more than 20 years of experience, he is widely recognised for advising on complex employment, family, and private client matters, as well as related disputes and regulatory issues. Known for his strategic and commercially minded approach, Kamal regularly assists clients in navigating sensitive legal and business challenges through litigation, arbitration, and negotiated settlements.

Kamal is particularly recognised for his employment law practice, advising employers on a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters, including workforce restructuring, executive separations, internal investigations, regulatory compliance, and employment disputes. He acts for multinational corporations, international organisations, state-owned enterprises, and leading Indonesian companies across a wide range of sectors.

In addition to his employment practice, Kamal leads AHP’s Family & Private Client practice, advising individuals, families, and business owners on family law matters, succession planning, estate-related disputes, and other personal legal affairs.   2. Acted for a multinational healthcare company in connection with the termination of a senior employee in a management role following findings of misconduct related to internal reimbursement practices.
  3. Advised one of Southeast Asia’s largest and oldest cement and building producers with a particular focus on employment and labour law matters connected to the transaction.
  4. Assisted an Indonesian subsidiary of a world-leading contractor in handling a large-scale and sensitive internal fraud investigation involving alleged systemic misconduct across its sales and project implementation functions.
  5. Advised a leading Indonesian publicly listed bank on complex and highly sensitive employment law aspects of is proposed acquisition of the International Wealth and Premier Banking business of a major global bank in Indonesia.
  6. Assisted the Indonesian subsidiary of a multinational industrial manufacturer in connection with the proposed closure of its branch officer and the termination of employment of affected employees.
  7. Assisted a multinational American food manufacturing company with employment law advisory and legal review of internal communications in connection with a post-acquisition integration and workforce redundancy.
  8. Advised PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) on its rights and obligations under Indonesian Labour Law and represented Inalum before the Indonesian Labour Court in submitting its reasons for the termination of an employee.
