Indy is a member of AHP’s Banking & Finance practice. Prior to joining AHP in 2017, Indy started his legal career with the Indonesian associated firm of a reputable international firm, where he was primarily involved in merger and acquisition transactions.   

In AHP, Indy represents both domestic and international financial institutions, as well as borrowers on a variety of transactions, including corporate and government syndication and bilateral financings projects. In addition, he has advised and represented clients in relation to matters involving structured finance and insolvency/debt-restructuring, banking restructuring, payment system, and fintech and peer-to-peer lending matters.  

Indy obtained his law degree from the University of Pelita Harapan, where he was also part of the Willem C Vis (East) International Moot Team.

Experience Highlight

  • Acted as the Indonesian legal counsel for PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk. (BTPN) on the proposed merger with PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia (SMBCI). 
  • Represented PT Royal Lestari Utama in relation to a pioneering corporate sustainability bond amounting to USD 95 million. This corporate green bond issuance was the first of its kind in Asia. 
  • Represented PT Multi Kusuma Cemerlang in obtaining financing from a prominent French bank. 
  • Assisted a private equity firm in acquiring an existing USD 235 million loan from a company and the subsequent restructuring and upsizing of such loan. 
  • Represented an Indonesian bank in multiple transactions involving: (i) sales of its non-performing facility, (ii) a subscription to new sukuk, and (iii) obtaining a loan, from various SPVs. 
  • Assisted PT Bank Permata Indonesia in its proposed bid for the Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Business, which were being tendered by the Indonesian government.  The proposed deal involved the purchase of a loan portfolio, fund portfolio, branch network, and other related assets and liabilities.  
  • Represented the offshore secured creditors of a USD 445 million syndicated facility agreement in a suspension of debt payment proceeding (PKPU) of PT Apexindo Pratama Duta. After a complex negotiation with various lenders under a tight timeline, the facility was restructured into a new secured offshore facility and mandatory convertible bonds. The offshore creditors comprised of Raiffeisen Bank International A.G. (Singapore Branch), Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. (Hong Kong Branch), The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, HSBC Bank plc, Pathfinder Strategic Credit II LP, and ACP I Trading LLC. 
  • Assisted an international private equity firm in restructuring an existing loan agreement and structuring an exit plan that would release TAEL Partners from its existing investment in an Indonesian agricultural company. 
  • Assisted PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk. (BDI) in the sale of approximately 180,000 non-performing loans comprised of unsecured personal loans issued by BDI to Collectius AG. 
  • Provided advice and represented a multi finance company on its restructuring with local banks.
