Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) is pleased to announce that it acted as legal counsel to Sriwijaya Capital, a Southeast Asia–focused private equity firm, in connection with its strategic investment of up to USD20 million in PT Sumber Energi Surya Nusantara ("SESNA"). SESNA is a leading Indonesian renewable energy platform specialising in the development and deployment of solar power solutions nationwide. The transaction marks Sriwijaya Capital’s inaugural investment in the region's energy transition sector.
Through this investment, Sriwijaya Capital will support SESNA’s expansion of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, including the development of a 262 MWp solar farm with an 80 MWh BESS facility in Central Sulawesi. The transaction reflects strong investor confidence in SESNA's operational capabilities and broader momentum of Indonesia's renewable energy agenda under the government’s Net Zero Emissions 2060 roadmap.
